Yoder racked up 23 points, 12 rebounds, eight steals and three assists, all team highs, as the Polar Bears improved to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play. Ohio Northern led 30-22 at halftime, holding the Blue Streaks to 33 percent (10 of 30) from the field. Joanna Snyder scored all 10 of her points in the second half. ONU men fall in OT ADA -- Ohio Northern was held scoreless in the final minute of overtime in a 82-76 loss to John Carroll University on Saturday in Ohio Athletic Conference men's basketball. Ohio Northern's Jared Horstman capped a comeback by making the game-tying layup with 44 seconds left in regulation. In overtime, Branden Rushton tied the game at 76 on a three-point play, but the Polar Bears (5-4, 1-1 OAC) missed their final three field goal attempts. Kyle Hubbard led the Blue Streaks (4-3, 2-1) with 28 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals while hitting 13 of 14 attempts from the foul line. Lucas Pennington swished four 3-pointers in his team-high 18 points for Ohio Northern. Pennington also grabbed 10 rebounds to record his first career double-double. Rushton finished with 12 points and Horstman with 10. Ruffer leads Bluffton BLUFFTON -- Brooke Ruffer scored 22 points and Rachel DeBord added 17 to propel the Bluffton University women's basketball team to a 59-50 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference win over Rose-Hulman Saturday. The Beavers forced the Fightin' Engineers into 31 turnovers which was crucial since Bluffton was outrebounded 38-21. Bluffton men beaten BLUFFTON -- Bluffton University scored just 16 points in the first half as the Beavers dropped a 63-43 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game to Rose-Hulman at the Sommer Center on Saturday. Dustin Kinn and Will Pope both scored eight points and Thayne Recker netted seven points to lead the Beavers. Julian Strickland led four Rose-Hulman players in double figures with 17 points.
