Local Sports from The CourierSunday, December 09, 2012Prep Hockey: Findlay routs Bedford, 7-3SYLVANIA -- Bedford, Mich. scored first, but Findlay High's hockey team put seven straight goals on the board for a 7-3 Northwest Hockey Conference win over the Kicking Mules Friday night at Tam-O-Shanter. Bedford opened the scoring with a power play goal by Michael Pisanti at the 9:39 mark of the first period. Noah Szenderski and Kyle Kuhr were credited with assists. A.J. Bishop started Findlay's seven-goal string with a goal on assists from Noah Hindall and Mason Williams just 2:21 after Bedford's tally. A five-goal second period for the Trojans decided the game. Matt Atkins, Andy Martin, Clary Robertson, Hindall and Ethan Willis each scored goals for Findlay in the second period. Connor Curlis, Patrick Hall, Zach Wohlgamuth, Williams, Adam Weems and Hindall each recorded assists. Findlay's final goal came at 10:46 of the third period when Martin scored his second goal of the night on assists from Hall and Drew Thompson. Jimmy Schulty and Josef Molnar scored Bedford's final two goals in the third period. Findlay finished with a 37-34 edge in shots. Findlay goaltender Joe Longo recorded 32 saves to get the win.
