Findlay (7-2) wasn't bad on defense and led 16-15 at the half. It forced the Wildkittens to shoot 11-of-39 from the field, including a 1-of-14 effort from beyond the arc. Nicole Muehl led Findlay with 9 points while Christina McQueen and Taylor Stanfield clicked for 4 points apiece. Stanfield also pulled down 10 of the Trojans' 21 rebounds. The win gives Upper Sandusky sole possession of first place atop the NCC Black Division at 10-1 overall and 5-0 in the NCC. Wynford fell to 7-3 and 5-1 with the loss. Upper Sandusky's Taylor Graboski was 10 of 20 from the field and 2 of 2 from the line for 22 points. She also added six rebounds and three blocked shots. Savannah Piecha added 12 points and dished out five assists for the Rams. Paige Brady tossed in 15 points for the Royals. NEW RIEGEL 50 BUCKEYE CENTRAL 32 NEW WASHINGTON -- New Riegel's girls basketball team used a balanced attack and a solid defensive effort to roll to a 50-32 nonconference win over Buckeye Central on Saturday night. Four players scored in double figures for the Blue Jackets, with Taylor Arbogast pouring in 13 points to lead the way. Taylor Kirian, Kara Scherger and Lauren Ladd dropped in 10 points apiece for New Riegel, which shot 22-of-47 from the field while holding the Bucks to 15-of-37 shooting. The Blue Jackets (10-1) held a 23-18 edge on the boards, with Ladd pulling down seven rebounds and Kirian grabbing five. New Riegel forced 17 turnovers and Arbogast helped lead the defensive effort by coming up with three steals. She also dished out three assists. It was an interesting night at the foul line. Lake was whistled for 22 fouls and St. Wendelin hit 19 of 33 from the line. The Mohawks committed just seven fouls and Lake never went to the line. Fondessy popped in 19 points and added five rebounds with two assists and two steals. Ali Mowery scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Heather Saalman scored 13 points for the Mohawks (5-5). Jordyn Taylor had 19 points with six assists and Sara Dabney scored 10 points with six rebounds for the Flyers (3-8). The Patriots rolled to their 10th straight win with a 33-22 nonconference win over Henry County rival Napoleon on Saturday. It was certainly a different kind of win for the Patriots (10-0). Only three players scored for Patrick Henry as Kelsey Tietje tossed in 23 points, Kristin Bostelman netted nine and Kayla Fintel scored one point. The Patriots also got 17 of the 33 points from the foul line. Mia Rausch was the top scorer for Napoleon (2-10) with seven points.
