Area Colleges: Yoders leads ONU past Adrian
ADRIAN, Mich. -- Cenzie Yoder scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Ohio Northern Saturday as the Polar Bears stopped Adrian College in a nonconference women's basketball game on Saturday.

The Polar Bears, the No. 15 team in the latest NCAA Division III coaches' poll, won their 10th straight game to improve to 11-1. Adrian is 3-8.

All 14 players who appeared in the game for Ohio Northern scored at least two points.

Ohio Northern will return to action on Jan. 5 when it hosts No. 2 Mount Union in a key Ohio Athletic Conference matchup.



BU women win

HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Bluffton University women's basketball team went on a 7-0 run to start the game as the Beavers rolled to a 69-44 win over Finlandia University in the consolation game of the Hope College Flying Dutch Holiday Tournament on Saturday.

Bluffton's Taylor Whitaker finished with a game-high 16 points after shooting 6-of-10 from the field, including an impressive 4-of-6 performance beyond the arc. The freshman also tallied three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Brenna Kurilec and Mikayla Coburn both finished the game with eight points. Coburn ripped down a team-high eight rebounds. Ruffer also collected eight boards to go along with her four points, four assists and three steals.

The Beavers (6-5) will be back on the road Wednesday for a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference battle with rival Defiance College.
