Prep boys soccer: L-B sweeps top MSSL awards

TIFFIN -- Liberty-Benton swept the top awards as the Midland Suburban Soccer League released its all-conference selections for the 2012 boys soccer season.

Liberty-Benton's Zach Garver earned the MSSL's Player of the Year award while the Eagles' Greg Norden was named the conference's coach of the year.

Garver, a junior attacker, led the Eagles to the league title 14-4-1 overall record this season. He was the top scorer on the team with 30 goals and seven assists.

Three other juniors also made the first team.

Jacob Lyberg was a first-team pick as a midfielder, Drew Dole earned first-team honors as a defender and Dillon Burkett was selected as the conference's top goalkeeper.
