Local Sports from The CourierSaturday, October 13, 2012NBC Football: Rossford defeats ElmwoodBLOOMDALE -- Elmwood took a 13-7 lead into halftime before Rossford rallied for a 28-13 victory Friday in a Northern Buckeye Conference football game. Michael Smith scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter for the Royals (3-5, 1-4 NBC) and Michael Chapman caught an 18-yard scoring pass from Zach Foster as Elmwood built a 13-0 lead. Rossford (5-3, 3-2) responded with the next four touchdowns. Sean McCormick caught a 31-yard TD pass from Ryan Clay late in the first half and Ian Stollar gave Rossford the lead in the third quarter with an 11-yard run. McCormick returned a fumble 31 yards for a third-quarter score and Clay ran 17 yards for touchdown in the fourth. Foster was 7 of 16 passing for 117 yards. Smith ran for 59 yards on 18 carries and Derick Mobus caught four passes for 86 yards.
