Prep Football: BVC leaders roll up easy wins
McCOMB -- Under Kris Alge McComb has been known to throw the ball around and light up the scoreboard.

But against Arcadia Friday, the Panthers used the ground game to pile up the points, rushing for 297 yards, scoring 42 first-quarter points and defeating the Redskins 64-0 in a Blanchard Valley Conference game.

Jerry Brown (5 carries, 101 yards) and Cody Wilson (4, 66) combined for seven touchdowns for McComb (8-0, 7-0 BVC), the No. 2-ranked team in the latest Associated Press Division VI poll.

Brown scored on runs of 14, 6, 27 and 52 yards. Wilson found the end zone from 35, 14 and 15 yards out.

Dalton Buck was 2 of 3 passing for 25 yards and he added a 34-yard touchdown scamper. Dalton Auchmuty finished off McComb's scoring with a five yard jaunt.

McComb allowed just 49 total yards and four first downs on 46 plays. The Panthers forced four Arcadia fumbles.

Casey Mock was 6 of 15 passing for 20 yards. Sawyer Keiffer ran 12 times for 53 yards for the Redskins (3-4, 2-4).

LEIPSIC -- Leipsic had a player step up in every facet of the offense and the Vikings defeated Cory-Rawson 48-12 Friday in BVC football action.

Zack Kuhlman was 11 of 18 passing for 224 yards and four touchdowns for Leipsic (8-0, 7-0 BVC), who came into the evening ranked fourth in the latest Associated Press Division VI Poll.

Three of those scoring strikes went to Devin Mangas, who found the end zone from 19, 41 and 73 yards. Mangas caught seven passes for 157 yards.

Jordan Chamberlin came through on the ground with 149 yards on 11 rushes and a six-yard touchdown. The Leipsic offense piled up 417 yards.

Tyler Harris had a solid game for the Hornets with 134 yards on 26 carries. He returned a punt 69 yards for a score.

ARLINGTON -- Andrew Hunter burned Hardin Northern with his arm and his feet on Friday night, throwing two touchdown passes and running for two more scores as Arlington blasted the Polar Bears 70-0 in a Blanchard Valley Conference game.

Hunter scored on runs of 30 yards and 18 yards. He threw two TD passes in the second quarter as the Red Devils (5-3, 4-3 BVC) stormed into halftime up 42-0.

Hunter hit Blaiz McBride on a 20-yard TD pass and connected with Kody Frysinger on a 27-yard scoring strike to cap a 28-point second quarter. The junior quarterback completed 4 of 7 passes for 48 yards and rushed for 75 yards on seven carries.

McBride also found the end zone on a 55-yard interception return in the second while Jordan Freed broke loose for a 66-yard punt return in the quarter.

Kyle Bormuth rushed for a pair of TDs as well and tallied 68 rushing yards. The Red Devils rolled up 362 yards and held the Polar Bears (0-8, 0-7) to 123 yards. Arlington forced six turnovers, including four fumbles, while only turning the ball over twice.

VAN BUREN -- Matt DeVore and Ross Adolph rushed for two touchdowns apiece to help pace Van Buren in its 40-7 BVC win over Vanlue Friday night.

DeVore scored on runs of 12 yards and 9 yards while Adolph came through with a 10-yard run and a 3-yard run to help the Black Knights roll.

Adolph led the rushing attack with 97 yards and DeVore added 51 yards.

The Black Knights (4-4, 3-4 BVC) churned out 330 yards while limiting the Wildcats (0-8, 0-7) to 140 yards.

Nick Hagerty scored the only TD for Vanlue, rushing 6 yards in the third quarter.
