OWL wrestling: Van Buren has three champions
NORTHWOOD -- A trio of Van Buren wrestlers won individual championships as the Black Knights finished second at the Ohio Wrestling League tournament Friday at Northwood.

Gibsonburg defended its OWL title by outscoring Van Buren 158-102. Cory-Rawson (91?), McComb (78) and Arcadia (74) were next in the nine-team field.

The Black Knights' championship trio had little trouble in the finals.

Chance Sonnenberg took the 160-pound crown by whipping Gibsonburg's Dan Henline 20-6.

Ora Oler (220) and Isaac Sexton (285) both scored pins in the finals. Oler stuck McComb's Donnie King in 1:33 while Sexton stuck Arcadia's Gabe Johnson 2:49.

Austin Corey (106), Tyler Atchison (195) and Payton Whitticar (182) were runners-up for Van Buren.

Arcadia dominated the lower weight classes.

The Redskins' Tristan Love doubled up Corey 10-5 to win the 106-pound division. Jarrod Bowman outlasted Northwood's Devin Dunbar 13-10 to win at 113 pounds and Trevor Bowman pinned Cory-Rawson's Brandon Eck in 3:55 in the 120-pound final.

Cory-Rawson had a pair of titlists. Austin Brown (132) pinned Toledo Christian's Michael Geis in 1:51 while Dylen Hartman took the 152-pound class with a 19-4 win over McComb's Zack Harris.

Other area runner-up finishes came from Cory-Rawson's Zach Smith (126) and Jacob Collins (170).
