Local Sports from The CourierWednesday, February 27, 2013College Track: Rowland, Showman lead UF entriesThree University of Findlay indoor track record holders will be among 12 student-athletes who will represent the school at the 2012 NCAA Division II national championship, which is scheduled for March 7-9 in Birmingham, Ala. Jessica Rowland and Pam Showman will lead the women's squad, while Dillon Webster will headline the men. Rowland, a senior and an All-American, holds UF records in both the shot put (50-0) and the weight throw (68-113/4). Sophomore Kendra Averesch will also compete in the shot put. Showman, a sophomore, broke her pentathlon record of 3,562 points at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships. On the men's side, All-American Webster owns the UF 800 record (1:50.36). He, along with Tim Sanders, Michael Travis and Darren Johnson will compete in the 1,600 relay. Sanders, an All-American last year indoors, will compete in the 60-meter hurdles. Senior Darren Bass and juniors Taylor Miller, who was an All-American outdoors last spring, and Marcus Vicars will compete in the shot put.
