Girls Basketball: Liberty-Benton rallies to top Kalida, 49-38
Rachel Myers and Katie Simon combined for 38 points Monday as Liberty-Benton rallied past Kalida to post a 49-38 victory in a nonleague girls basketball game.

Simon had a game-high 20 points for the Eagles (12-3). Myers had 18 points, six steals and four assists, and Lauren Kotey grabbed 10 rebounds.

Jackie Gardner led Kalida (9-5) with 16 points. The Wildcats led 18-15 at halftime but were outscored 34-20 in the second half.

BUCYRUS -- Wynford's 20-11 advantage in the middle two quarters proved to be just enough to carry the Royals to a 46-40 nonleague girls basketball win over Carey on Monday.

Meghan Harrer hit four 3-pointers and scored 12 points for Wynford. KarLee Schieffer added 10 points, seven of them coming from the line where Wynford (11-5) outscored Carey 15-9.

Hannah Tong and Sydney Wentling scored 11 points each and Ali Rymer added nine for Carey (12-3).

COLUMBUS GROVE -- Fort Jennings snapped a 26-26 tie after three quarters Monday by outscoring Columbus Grove 9-5 in the fourth quarter for a 35-31 victory in a Putnam County League girls basketball game.

Macy Schroeder led the Musketeers (7-10, 2-4 PCL) with 17 points, including three 3-pointers. Schroeder also had six rebounds and three assists. Gabbi German added six points.

Sydney McCluer paced Columbus Grove (4-12, 1-5 PCL) with eight pints. Meghan Verhoff scored seven points for the Bulldogs.
