Boys Basketball: Bluffton falls in 2 OT
BLUFFTON -- Kenton converted 11 of 16 free throws in two overtime periods and downed Bluffton Tuesday in a nonconference boys basketball matchup.

Down 35-22 in the fourth quarter the Pirates (7-8) scored 22 points to tie the game 44-44 at the end of regulation.

The two teams then each scored nine points in the first extra period before Kenton finally won it at the line. Bluffton hit just 2 of 9 free throws in the two extra periods.

Grant Sherman led the Wildcats (8-5) with 18 points while Colyn Blackford put up 14 points.

Levi Kistler paced Bluffton with 17 points while Austin Bricker and Michael Donley contributed 11 points apiece.

Lewis Larsen scored 26 points on Tuesday when Heritage Christian rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit to knock off Grand Lake Christian 65-63 in a nonleague boys basketball contest.

Larsen, a 6-foot-7 sophomore center, also grabbed seven rebounds. Dillon Berry scored 17 points and Ethan Houdeshell had nine for Heritage Christian, which trailed 38-28 at the half but got back into it with a 20-11 surge in the third quarter.

Josiah Long handed out nine assists for the Minutemen (4-8).

Jacob Henry had a team-high 22 points for Grand Lakes Christian (10-10).

MILLBURY -- Lake set the tone in the first quarter with a 14-5 advantage as the Flyers defeated Elmwood 54-27 Tuesday night in a Northern Buckeye Conference boys basketball game.

The Flyers' (15-2, 7-2 NBC) defense was on top of their game allowing single-digit scoring in each quarter.

Marcus Pierce led the Fylers with 12 points. Jayce Vancena added 10 points.

Zach Foster was the leading scorer for the Royals (9-6, 4-5) with 10 points.

ROSSFORD -- Fostoria fell behind early in the first quarter and never could catch up in a 59-46 loss to Rossford in Northern Buckeye Conference boys basketball on Tuesday.

Dominique Fuller scored 24 points for Fostoria (2-12, 1-8 NBC). No other Redmen player scored more than five points.

Derek Mack and Nathan Childress scored 12 points apiece and Brian Burks added 10 for Rossford (8-9, 6-4). The Bulldogs converted 23 of 29 free throws and outscored Fostoria 23-9 from the line.

CONTINENTAL -- Wayne Trace blew the game open from the start with a 23-8 first quarter lead as the Raiders beat Continental 61-41 in a nonconference boys basketball game Tuesday night.

The game was mostly even for both teams, but the Raiders' (13-1) first-quarter explosion set the tone.

Dalton Sinn led the Raiders with 16 points. Grady Gudakunst added 13 points and Corbin Linder 11.

Tyler Rue led the Pirates (5-10), who have lost four straight and nine of their last 10, with 17 points and seven rebounds.
