Bus Driver Resigns After Leaving Child On Bus

A bus driver in Allen County's Elida school district has resigned after he left a preschool student alone on a bus last month. The Lima News reports the incident happened on January 29. Driver John McDermid apparently checked the bus but didn't see the child. McDermid took the bus back to the garage where the child was left alone for about 13 minutes before another driver spotted the child, who was not hurt. McDermid resigned two days later.
