Sheriff's Association Membership Helps In Fighting Crime.Wednesday, February 27, 2013 2:30 PM  Hancock County residents will be given the opportunity to assist law enforcement officials build a stronger partnership in the fight against crime. Sheriff Michael Heldman announced that citizens are being invited to become Associate Members of the Buckeye State Sheriff's Association.. (audio below) Sheriffs and deputies already pay membership in the association. With the general public being invited to join, it helps defray the costs associated with ongoing training.. (audio below) Heldman said with government funding becoming increasingly difficult to secure, the membership drive is more important than ever. Membership appeals have gone out in the mail but in case you do not receive one you can contact your local sheriff's office or the Buckeye State Sheriff's Association in Columbus at 1-800-589-2772.
