Friday, March 01, 2013 - 5:19 AM

A patch to keep the Hancock County emergency siren system in operation is working according to officials. Sheriff Michael Heldman tells the Courier a temporary fix is in place until upgrades can be made. The issue was discussed at the commissioner's meeting Thursday. The county missed a deadline to switch the sirens over to a system meant to eliminate signal interference at the beginning the year. The upgrades are expected to be made by the end of this month.
