Former Kalida Car Dealer Sentenced

A former Kalida car dealer was sentenced Thursday for stealing more than $414,000 from three banks. The Lima News reports 61-year-old Randy Unverferth will spend six months in jail with work release privileges after being found guilty on three counts of theft. Investigators say Unverferth sold cars that were bought with loans from the banks, but that he did not repay the banks once he had the money. Unverferth said the dealership was struggling and got caught up trying to turn the family business around.
