County Update Given At GOP LuncheonFriday, March 01, 2013 12:50 PM  The Hancock County Commissioners reviewed operations and projects at the GOP's First Friday Luncheon today. Commissioner Chairman Phil Reigle stating that the county still is working closely with the Army Corps of Engineers and setting aside money for flood mitigation.. (audio below) Commissioner Reigle said operations are running smoothly because of strong sales tax numbers despite decreased revenue streams from the state. The county received a bond rating increase after restructuring some of its long-term debt, another sign that the county is on solid footing financially. As far as areas of needed improvement, Commissioner Reigle pointed out that $78 million in Hancock County alone is being spent on Medicaid..
