Footlighters Demo Starts Today

A demolition project will temporarily close a Fostoria intersection. The former Fostoria Footlighters theater at the corner of South and Poplar Streets will be torn down, with work starting today. The building was once a church, and then a playhouse when it was bought by the Footlighters in the 1960's. The building was deemed a public health hazard and was thought to be on the verge of collapse. Demolition of the structure was ordered in 2011.
