MedCorp Halting Findlay Operations

Tuesday, March 05, 2013 - 2:24 PM

An ambulance company is shutting down its operations in Findlay. MedCorp will stop working in the city on April 1. Company officials tell the Courier the decision was made when the city of Findlay entered into negotiations for a single ambulance provider with Hanco Ambulance late last year. As it stands now MedCorp and Hanco alternate weeks of service. Medcorp took a hit earlier last year when the Hancock County Commissioners opted to stop subsidizing ambulance runs in the county.

Director of Operations Mark Funkhouser says the change will create opportunities elsewhere. Medcorp will transfer equipment and employees to Lima, Defiance, Huron and Bucyrus. They plan to expand operations in those locations.
