Cooper Workers Report Week Long Shutdown

Workers at Cooper Tire & Rubber in Findlay have an unexpected week off. Workers are reporting the factory will be closed through Friday, with production expected to resume Saturday. The company has not commented on the most recent cutbacks in production, but did mention in a recent report to the SEC that extra inventory was put together in the fall to prepare for a transfer over to new enterprise resource planning software in the first quarter. CEO Roy Armes has also said that a flood of cheap tires from China has led to many dealers loading up their inventories, and cutting back on their orders.
