The Hancock County Commissioners approved a new agreement with a Findlay architectural firm for design of a new and smaller county garage at a special meeting Thursday afternoon. TFC Architects & Engineers will be paid $65,000 for designs and construction documents. On Wednesday, Commissioner Brian Robertson and County Engineer Chris Long agreed on a 32,800 square foot design which is over 5,000 square feet smaller than the original plan. An exact cost for the new design was not discussed.

About $2.8 million in financing has already been approved by the commissioners, with a $1.5 million contingency fund. The new building will replace the one destroyed by the June 29 wind storm. The project is expected to be released for bidding on April 8, with bids due on April 25.
