County Engineer Unveils Road Plan For The Year

We got a little taste of spring weather last weekend, and that can only mean one thing is around the corner - construction season. The Hancock County Commissioners were given their first look at planned road projects Tuesday. The Courier reports that $2.7 million in work has been proposed, with federal money covering roughly $1 million of the costs. The plans call for the replacement of three bridges; one on County Road 203 in Pleasant Township, one on Blanchard Township Road 87, and one on Amanda Township Road 196. State and federal money will help pay for all three bridge projects.

Resurfacing will be done on eight roadways at a cost of $600,000, and another $280,000 will be spent to patch several county roads. Two culverts on County Road 290 just outside of Findlay will be replaced at a cost of $61,000.

The Commissioners are expected to vote on the proposal Thursday.
